From 15 May 2020, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council’s playgrounds, outdoor gyms, dog off lead areas and skate parks reopened. More information here.

From 1 June, Council reopened of its customer centres and libraries. To improve safety for customers and staff, the Queanbeyan customer centre will be relocated to the foyer of The Q. There will also continue to be restrictions to ensure the safety of our community. More information here.

A range of support measures have been put in place for businesses and individuals by the Federal and State Governments and businesses are encouraged to visit the following sites

If you are experiencing financial difficulty as a result of COVID-19 you can apply for rate relief by completing the Rate Relief Hardship Assistance form which can be completed online here.

NSW Government Small Business Grants

The NSW Government is providing financial support of up to $10,000 to ease pressures on small businesses and non-profit organisations suffering as a result of COVID-19. Applications of this grant are now open for eligible businesses. Further details including; eligibility and how to apply can be found on the Service NSW website.

Information for food businesses

We are keeping residents updated on those businesses providing takeaway options via the Visit Queanbeyan-Palerang at https://visitqueanbeyanpalerang.com.au/takeaway-and-delivery-in-queanbeyan-palerang. Food businesses can register on this page to be included.

Council agreed at to range of measures to assist residents and ratepayers: 

• Extend the modified approach to apply for hardship relief to residential and business ratepayers, enabling employees who have lost their jobs and businesses that have closed or have been restricted trade as a consequence of Government orders. That same relief continues to apply for farmland rate properties as a consequence of the drought, and other properties damaged or destroyed as a consequence of the bushfires
• The relief options include deferral of rate instalments and extending regular rate payments over two years, and the waiver of interest charges, under approved payment plans
• Defer the proposed Bungendore and Braidwood stormwater levy ($20 per year) and associated works by a year
• Work with local service providers for a coordinated COVID/Bushfire neighbourhood program in support of vulnerable members of the community to assist drop offs, call ins and the like

• ideas for activities for fitness or for children 
•  concerns you might have about friends
