We run arts programs for youth throughout the year.
Media Arts program
Currently we are accepting applications from young people aged 13-17 to participate in a media arts and film-making program.
Workshops and activities will be facilitated in Queanbeyan, Bungendore and Braidwood for up to 10 participants in each locality (total 30 participants).
This project will provide mentoring for young people to develop media arts and filmmaking skills. There will be skill building workshops in traditional illustration, digital drawing and filmmaking. These will be facilitated by QPRC staff, local digital artists and a regional filmmaking school.
Digital Animation artwork ‘Little Star’ and originals by Sydney Artist Todd Fuller will be exhibited in the QPRC Rusten House Art Centre this coming August and be a catalyst for inspiration in digital film making for our youth art program participants.
Participants will go on to make their own self-directed short films in a supported environment. They will have the option to work as individuals, pairs or small groups and will finalise the project by organising a Youth Film Festival, showcasing their work during the summer school holidays of 2022.
To be eligible to be selected they must be able to commit to the full program calendar from August through to December on a weekly basis, including an intensive 5 day program in the September school holidays.
Selection is through a short 10-30 second digital video submission showcasing their visual ideas and demonstrating their desire to participate in the program.
