2. Local Heritage Grants

Each year Council offers Heritage Grants with the support of the NSW Heritage Office.

These grants help residents with works to preserve their heritage buildings.

Eligible properties may be:

  • listed in one of the applicable local environmental plans
  • on the State Heritage Register as it applies to Braidwood
  • or within a heritage conservation area in the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Local Government Area

Applications are now closed and will reopen in August 2024.

3. NSW ClubGRANTS

Each year through the ClubGRANTS Scheme, clubs across NSW provide tens of thousands of dollars to help support community organisations provide a range of initiatives in areas of community welfare or social services, community development, community health services or employment assistance activities. 

The ClubGRANTS generally open in February each year and close in May. To be eligible to apply, you must be a not-for-profit organisation that provides the following project and/or services: community welfare or social services, community development, community health services or employment assistance activities. Organisations involved in community or professional sport are also eligible to apply. Grant requests in the past have ranged from $2k - $40k depending on the needs of the organisation.

Tips for completing your ClubGRANTS application

  • Ensure you have completed and supplied your Standard Funding Report Form for any previous grants.
  • Read the grant guidelines before you start your application.
  • Demonstrate the direct outputs, outcomes and impact of your project for the community.
  • Be clear about what you want to achieve.
  • Use clear language and avoid jargon.
  • Present any relevant supporting material (e.g. data, supporting letters) and make sure it's presented clearly.
  • Do your homework and know the aspirations, questions and needs in the community. Pay particular attention to, and document, what projects are already running in the community, and where the gaps may be.
  • Discuss your project ideas with similar/specialist organisations in Queanbeyan, make connections with other local organisations and where possible consider and develop partnership projects.

4. Cultural Grants

Cultural Grants program aims to assist local arts, artists, musicians, performers, writers and arts/cultural groups to start and develop their own projects, and to improve the community’s opportunities for involvement in cultural and arts activities. Applications are open throughout the year, or until funds have been exhausted. 

Cultural/community organisations, individuals or groups of individuals for projects are welcome to apply. These need to meet the cultural grants aims and eligibility criteria, and demonstrate that they are of benefit to the community through their cultural or artistic outcomes. 

Applicants should ensure that all previous grant funds received from Council have been acquitted.

5. Annual Community Grants Program

Applications for our Annual Community Grants Program 2023 have now closed. The program is open to non-profit community organisations or groups based in or affiliated with the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area. Applications will reopen in July 2024.

Category A

Category A (general assistance) projects must be for charitable purposes of either relief of poverty, advancement of education or other community purposes that there is agreement by resolution of Council. The emphasis of the Program is supporting the community’s wishes from our Community Strategic Plan. We may provide financial assistance for eligible organisations upon application each year under our Donations Policy.

Applications for Category A Grants will not be considered until previous projects have been completed; and financial reports have been provided through the acquittal process.

Online applications for Category A are strongly encouraged, but emailed applications using the relevant form below will also accepted.

Category B

QPRC Annual Community Grants Program Category B funding provides financial assistance to community not-for-profit or charitable organisations that wish to hire a Council facility but are unable to meet the cost of hire. This grant will be non-monetary however, will be recognised both financially as a donation and as income for the facility. The grant will be considered as either full or partial payment of venue hire.

Applications for Category B donations in the 2023/24 financial year can be submitted by completing the online form below and attaching evidence of the venue hire booking.

Category H

To encourage the increased use and availability of Council owned community spaces, a no fee hire of some spaces will be available for regular community, not-for-profit or charitable organisations who are unable to afford to hire these spaces. Special conditions apply including that availability can only be confirmed two weeks in advance of any regular booking. A minimal annual fee and key deposit will also apply.
