Captains Flat Flood Warning System - Community Presentation

We will be holding a Community Workshop at 6pm on Monday 2 December 2024 to present the Total Flood Warning System (TFWS) design options to the community and seek community feedback on the proposed options. The SES will also be providing a flood emergency presentation.

The workshop will be held at the Captains Flat Community Hall – 53 Foxlow Street, Captains Flat.

For most residents in the Captains Flat township, the first warning they presently have of a flood occurring is inundation of their property or loss of access along roadways. We have engaged a consultant to produce designs for a Total Flood Warning System to provide advance warning to the Captains Flat community of impending flood events.

This project is grant funded by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) as part of the 2022/23 NSW Floodplain Management Program, with NSW DPE covering two-thirds of the project cost. Council will seek funding for construction of the TFWS following completion of the designs.
