Ryrie Park playground upgraded showing new equipment

Projects includes landscaping, street furniture, pedestrian access and general image of CBD. Council has allocated $500,000 from the $9m Stronger Communities Fund for the project.

A master plan for the Braidwood CBD, created by Phillips/Marler Architects, resulted from intensive community consultation that encompasses the main CBD of Braidwood, including Ryrie Park North and South in Wallace Street. Part of the vision for Ryrie Park North provides for an inclusive, intergenerational play space.

Ryrie Park Playground

The new inclusive playground in Ryrie Park was officially opened on 1 November. The park caters to all ages and abilities with equipment such as a basket swing, accessible carousel, double flying fox with an inclusive seat and the signature windmill combination climber. Other upgrades to Ryrie Park include water play equipment, wheelchair friendly picnic tables, seating and pathways. The new park is funded through NSW Government’s Everyone Can Play Grant, Stronger Communities Fund and fundraising by the Braidwood community.
