Braidwood Town Centre Improvements
Projects includes landscaping, street furniture, pedestrian access and general image of CBD. Council has allocated $500,000 from the $9m Stronger Communities Fund for the project.
In conjunction with Phillips / Marler Heritage Landscape Architects, Council hosted a community meeting at the Old Library in Braidwood on Thursday 10 August 2017 to present their landscape concept plans for the upgrade of the Braidwood CBD. The landscape concept plans make proposals for the upgrade of Wallace Street streetscapes and both sections of Ryrie Park (north and south). After community input no changes will be made to the layout of Ryrie Park South. The band stand will be restored and litter bins and furniture replaced. Plans will also be developed to managed tree health and succession.
After initial community consultation (conducted in August/September 2017) a report was presented to Council on 28 February 2018.
We then invited further community comment on the proposed plans and these were presented to the Council meeting held on 27 June 2018. You can download and read the final report here.
We will make the final plans available here once they have been developed.
