New irrigation system working on Mick Sherd Oval

A new change room facilities building has been constructed next to the existing facilities building. It includes two large change rooms, six separate showers, four toilets, two strapping rooms and one all abilities bathroom including a disability shower, toilet room and change table suitable for children and adults.

Design specifications for the building were prepared by architects Eric Martin & Associates. The building complements the existing facilities building at the site and incorporated a similar design and building materials. Work was completed in January 2020 and the new facility was officially opened on Friday 21 February 2020.

A project budget for construction of the change rooms of $350,000 was allocated under the Stronger Country Communities Fund (Round 1).

An irrigation upgrade was completed March 2019. Work to renovate the playing surface was completed in February 2020. This has included heavy aeration, topdressing, seeding and fertilising. Temporary fencing was installed to stop foot traffic on the playing surface to provide the best opportunity to regrow for the 2020 winter playing season.
