The tender for civil works was awarded to Huon Contractors Pty Ltd. This tender covers design and construction of civil, mechanical and electrical works associated with the complex and all amenities building works.

The tender for the design and construction of the pavilions was awarded to Hines Construction at the February 2022 Council meeting.  

Update February 2024

The major and minor pavilions are progressing. The minor pavilion, with four team change rooms, three umpires rooms, storage rooms and a kiosk/canteen is likely to be completed around March 2024.

Completed works

  • Site demolition and waste removal completed in October 2020
  • Archaeological survey completed in October 2020
  • Bulk earth works being undertaken with stormwater, sewer and drainage installed during May/June 2022
  • Floodlights on fields 1, 3, 5 and 6 were installed with led lights in December 2022
  • Fencing and drainage works around fields 5 and 6 was done in December 2022
  • Streetlights on entry roads were installed in December 2022
  • Irrigation main lines were completed in December 2022
  • Concrete slabs for the Major and Minor pavilions were completed in April 2023
  • Natural grass turf has been laid on the two grass soccer/football fields
  • Synthetic grass has been laid on the soccer and hockey fields
  • Main road, internal paths, car park, all underground services and bulk earth works are complete
  • External painting completed
  • Shade sails and seating completed for the premier field
  • Dug outs on hockey field 1 completed
  • Tiling of minor pavilion walls and floors
  • All internal services are roughed in and sheeting has been completed for the minor pavilion.
  • Landscaping and tree planting works completed. Council’s Urban Landscapes apprentices have teamed with Council’s Tree Management Officer to plant out the site, according to the Landscape Architects Plan (Spiire)
  • Tiered seating and roofing completed

Stages

Stage 1A of the project will deliver:

  • three football pitches (one synthetic and two premier grass)
  • one first grade hockey pitch
  • three natural grass warm up pitches'
  • club rooms and amenities
  • car parking
  • lighting is to be variable LED to a maximum of 500 lux - with capacity to reduce lux levels for training and local games

Future stages of the complex are proposed to include a four court indoor facility for basketball, netball, futsal and indoor hockey and competition standard aquatics, hydrotherapy and sports/rehab therapy.

Stage 1B will deliver:

  • one first grade hockey pitch
  • one synthetic football pitch
  • additional lighting 

Stage 2 will deliver:

  • four court indoor facility

Stage 3 will deliver:

  • Aquatic centre including 25m, 50m and hydrotherapy pools
