On 28 January, for the first time Council’s Environmental Expo was a part of the Bungendore Show. This allowed the Environmental Expo to engage with a new audience. The event was a great success with lots of interested people taking part in a number of interactive stalls to learn about the environment and sustainability.

The Eaton Gorge Theatre Company entertained the crowd with “RRRRR (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle) pirates” while Bungendore Boomerang Bags showed how to make reusable shopping bags from recycled materials. Council gave away a compost bin, and this draw was a big hit. Jane Nock from Sutton was our lucky winner. The NSW Government Office of Environment and Heritage also took part in the event.

Council’s Environment and Health team are looking forward to taking the Environmental Expo to the Braidwood show on the Saturday 3 March.
