Follow the Arts Trail in October
Published on 20 September 2022
The Queanbeyan-Palerang Arts Trail returns to Braidwood, Bungendore and Queanbeyan over three weekends in October.
‘The Arts Trail is a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community and celebrate our local artists and makers,’ said Mayor Kenrick Winchester. ‘The focus will be on Braidwood 1-2 October, Bungendore 8-9 October and Queanbeyan 15-16 October.’
‘The Trail is a unique opportunity to meet artists in their spaces and see where pieces are developed from concept to completed work,’ QPRC Team Leader for Culture and Arts Janita Byrne said.
‘We want to use this event to showcase the high calibre of artists in our region and encourage our community and visitors alike to explore all that Queanbeyan-Palerang has to offer.’
This year more than 20 studios and galleries throughout the region will be showcasing ceramics, glassworks, paintings, textiles, jewellery and mixed media works, to view and own.
This year artists, crafters and followers of the trail, are encouraged to participate in a collaborative artwork - Bloom.
‘Blooms of all shapes, sizes and materials will become part of a growing temporary artwork in Braidwood’s Ryrie Park and by the Queanbeyan River near Ray Morton Park, during their respective trail weekends’ Janita Byrne said.
The artwork will be formed with premade flowers as well as those made at drop-in paper flower making activities located at each site during the Arts Trail.
