Exciting news for Queanbeyan with the Southern Harvest Association to present a weekly produce market on Crawford Street.
“I am really looking forward to the Southern Harvest Famers Market in Queanbeyan. It will bring extra life to our CBD, provide a great opportunity for local producers and support businesses in the CBD with the increased foot traffic,” Mayor Tim Overall said.
“Council is pleased to support the market and urge the community to get along to the market. There will be a range of fresh vegetables, fruit, egg, dairy and meat producers; as well as value-add products.”
“We are all so excited! This is wonderful for everyone, Queanbeyan businesses, the public, and stallholders. The timing of this great market opening in Queanbeyan in excellent, just in time for all our Christmas preparations!” said Jacquie from Idyllic Hills Wines.
The Southern Harvest Association said they are pleased to work with Council to bring the markets to Queanbeyan and that this is a great opportunity to support local produce and provide a mid-week income stream to our local farmers.
The market begins on Thursday 9 November on Crawford St. The market will run from 3pm until 6pm.
