Axis Youth Centre and Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council are celebrating National Youth Week this year with a Youth Festival at the Bungendore skate park on 18 April from 1-4pm.

There will be lots of fun activities for young people and community members to enjoy, including an informal skate comp, archery tag, basketball free throw comp and the Aboriginal Bicycle Safety Program. There will also be a free sausage sizzle, slushies and other soft drinks.

Youth Week began as a NSW Government initiative in 1989, and has since grown to be the largest celebration of young people in every state and territory across the country. Following the success of the NSW Youth Week program, Youth Week became a National event in 2000, with the theme for Youth Week 2018 being “Unity through Diversity”.

This is a free event for all community members to come along and celebrate all of the achievements of the local youth in Bungendore.
