Heritage Box Exhibition

Council is pleased to announce the launch of the Community Heritage Box Project ‘So what’s your story?’ at The Q Exhibition Space. The project is part of this year’s Queanbeyan-Palerang Heritage Festival under the theme of ‘My Culture, my story’.

The aim of the project was to involve community groups, families and individual residents of Queanbeyan-Palerang to participate by telling their stories in a Heritage Box. Boxes have been created by residents from across Queanbeyan-Palerang including Captains Flat, Braidwood, and Queanbeyan.

Council would like to extend a huge thank you to our project partners the Queanbeyan Men’s Shed who generously crafted the Heritage Boxes in their Queanbeyan workshop for this project.

The boxes tell a visual story of the diversity of our heritage and reflects the places we were born, our traditions and culture, travel and life experiences.

The exhibition runs from 18 April until 12 May at The Q Exhibition Space. Open weekdays 10am – 4pm and Saturdays 10am – 2pm. For more information go to www.theq.net.au
