Join Australia Day Ambassador and mental health advocate Ben Farinazzo as Queanbeyan-Palerang gears up to celebrate Australia Day.

On 26 January our region will come together as a community to celebrate the national day. It promises to be the biggest celebration so far.

Known for his work in raising awareness of mental health issues and his stellar effort at the 2018 Invictus Games, Ben Farinazzo is proud to be our 2019 Australia Day Ambassador and to join in with our community celebrations.

Mayor of Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Tim Overall is excited that Ben has taken the time to join our community on such an important day.

“Australia Day is such a special community day and an opportunity to showcase what’s great about Queanbeyan-Palerang,” Mayor Overall said.

“We all have different stories to share about this country and Australia Day is an opportunity to remember how fortunate we are to live, together, here in Australia. I know that we will put on a memorable day and having Ben as our Australia Day Ambassador just makes it all the more special.

“I encourage all members of our community to participate in the activities and events we have on offer. Let’s show the rest of Australia how great our community is and how important being Australian is to Queanbeyan-Palerang.”

Australia Day Ambassadors generously volunteer their time and share their Australian story at hundreds of community events on Australia Day. Get involved and try something new this Australia Day.
