Rural members Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee

Published on 06 July 2018

We are seeking expressions of interest from community members of the former Palerang area, to join the Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC).

The committee assists in the development of plans and activities for our major environmental assets, provides advice on projects and funding opportunities, considers sustainability initiatives and strategies around energy management, biodiversity, climate change and waste management.

Selection of community representatives will generally be based on the following criteria:

  • Whether they are residents of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area.
  • A demonstrated interest and expertise in environmental issues.
  • Community contacts and participation.
  • Personal interest in the local government area’s environmental issues.

Eligible nominees will be assessed by Council officers and a recommendation made to Council about proposed appointment to the Committee. Members generally serve for a period of two years after which time they can apply to renominate.

The Committee will meet every two months at 3.30pm for about 90 minutes or at other times as required.

Interested members of the community should send their expressions of interest to health.environment@qprc.nsw.gov.au by Wednesday 8 August 2018.
