The votes have now been tallied for this year’s $500 ‘People’s Choice Award’ a part of the annual QPRC Regional Art Awards at The Q in Queanbeyan, and the winner is Queanbeyan artist Catherine McCormack for her mixed media piece titled ‘Blowing Bubbles’.
Catherine’s piece was a labor of love, painted over a 52 week period. She worked on it every week for a year, incorporating a variety of mixed media. Catherine was thrilled to take the win, and send her thanks to everyone who voted for her. ‘It really inspires you to keep making and creating. This award means a lot, as people could have voted for any artwork, but they voted for mine, it makes me feel very honoured’ said Catherine.
