  • Following the resignation of Cr Ternouth in December, the NSW Electoral Commission held a countback election on 7 Feb where Ross Macdonald was declared elected. Cr Macdonald joined tonight's Council meeting.
  • Council received a 'highly commended' Excellence in the Environment Award from Local Government of NSW for Communication, Education and Empowerment for the Minecraft Sustainable Design Competition.
  • Council heard from 13 members of the public who made presentations about various matters on the agenda.
  • A petition concerning ‘Correcting Historical Signage in the Braidwood District’ was tabled.
  • Council accepted the Community Engagement Report on the Special Rate Variation, noted the considerable feedback and participation at meetings and thanked the community for their involvement. Council adopted the draft revised Long Term Financial Plan, adopted the amendments to the 2022-26 Delivery Program and selected Scenario 2 to submit an application to IPART. Council will lodge an application with IPART for a special variation as outlined in Scenario 2 in the Long Term Financial Plan, for a permanent rate increase of 18% each year for 3 years, inclusive of the rate peg. Council will conduct a review of the rating structure in 2023-24.
  • Council granted conditional approval to a development application for a two-storey dwelling to be used as an exhibition home in the North Elmslea new residential development area, at 13 Nelson Terrace, Bungendore
  • Council deferred consideration of Scoping Proposal Complying Development in Zone C4 Environmental Living until community consultation and a community workshop take place
  • Council endorsed a list of priority projects to be presented to candidates in the upcoming 2023 NSW election for consideration of funding commitments
  • Council endorsed the name Robert ‘Bob’ Winnel Lawn for the South Jerrabomberra Town Park central lawn and will place the proposal on public exhibition at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au for 28 days
  • Council will enter into a contract with the Electoral Commissioner to administer all elections, council polls and constitutional referenda of the Council for the 2024 Ordinary Election
  • Council received a report on the South Jerrabomberra Regional Jobs Precinct Draft Master Plan
  • Council received a report on the bi-annual review of Councillor expenses
  • Council noted Councillor Workshops from 3 Jan – 1 Feb including Development Application Rutledge Street; Two storey dwellings in Elm Grove Estate; Temporary Office Proposal/Options Bungendore; SRV Scenarios and Community Feedback
  • Council noted the minutes of the Bungendore Town Centre and Environs Committee Meeting, endorsed the Ellendon Street Sculpture Project and will task its Place Making team to update the Bungendore Village Town Centre Plan in conjunction with BTCEC
  • Council will receive a report on options for future use of the former medical centre at 172 Foxlow Street, Captains Flat
  • Council’s design brief for proposed Council administration and community centre building in Bungendore will incorporate energy efficiency elements, including minimum 7-star energy rating, passive solar principles, maximum solar energy use, battery storage if cost-effective, electric heating and cooking, maximise recycled materials, electric vehicle charging, cyclist facilities, non-potable water for landscaping and considering the Urban Forest and Cooling Strategy
  • In closed session, Council considered a report on a temporary Bungendore office
