Council maintains the water and sewer network. We have an agreement with Icon Water to purchase potable water for the Queanbeyan area. Braidwood, Bungendore and Captains Flat have their own water treatment facilities which service the urban area of the three towns/villages.

Googong Recycled Water

Recycled water is provided to Googong Township through the purple pipe network.

On site sewage management

An on-site sewage management system is part of the plumbing system on an unsewered property, and normally includes a tank for treating raw sewage and a disposal system

Water Restrictions and Conservation Measures

Permanent water conservation measures apply in Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Googong. If drought is declared, they may also apply in Braidwood, Bungendore and Captains Flat.

PFAS

After testing across all our water supplies, a low level of PFAS was detected in the water supply for Bungendore.
