Asbestos contamination in coloured sand products

Some coloured sand products are potentially contaminated with asbestos. QPRC waste facilities do not accept asbestos. Small quantities can be disposed of at the Mugga Lane and Mitchell Resource Management Centres, with appropriate double-wrapping. Please follow the advice available at the link below.

Water Rates Notices

Some Water Notices that overlapped the end of the financial year had rates calculated at the 25/26 charge for usage that occurred in 24/25. This was a date error in the system that has been corrected. The average amount overcharged is $8.71. All affected properties have had a credit transaction applied. The credit is appearing in online accounts and will appear on your next notice.

603 certificates

A Section 603 Certificate is applied for by the purchaser/solicitor when a property purchase takes place. It provides information relating to the property such as:

Property number and address
Current owners name
Legal description of the property
Rates and charges levied for the current year
Outstanding rates and charges
Water usage account outstanding
The cost of a Section 603 Certificate is payable when you apply

You can also request a combined Section 603 and special water reading certificate.

Once the certificate has been generated, you can call up to provide up-to-date information. This can be provided for up to six weeks from the date of issue shown on the certificate. Any updates that are provided verbally are not legally binding.
