Council has developed a Roadside Vegetation Management Plan and Policy and is seeking the community’s feedback.

‘Managing roadside vegetation is an important step in public road safety, but many roadside verges are also key biodiversity and conservation hotspots,’ Mayor Kenrick Winchester said.

‘This plan and policy have been developed to try and balance the competing needs of roads and road infrastructure with the conservation of roadside verges and reserves.’

‘Roadside vegetation is managed as part of the routine work undertaken by Council and the draft policy and plan guides future road related construction and maintenance.’

‘Comments will be open until the end of January 2024.’
