Foxlow Bridge Restoration

  • Project typeCapital Works
  • Project valueTo be determined

Foxlow Bridge was built in 1896-97 and is a flood-free single lane bridge that is currently load limited to five tonnes.

A heritage assessment of the bridge recommended its preservation. The load limit of the bridge will be determined once the structural assessment has been completed. It will remain as a single lane and at its current height.

It will provide:

  • improved access for residents
  • continued access for postal, RFS and school bus services.

To enable restoration of the bridge, we will:

  • complete a structural assessment that details the repairs required to restore it ($110,000.00)
  • prepare a plan that progressively implements the outcomes of the assessment and includes the estimated cost to complete each stage
  • provide $75,000 per annum ongoing to enable immediate maintenance to be completed
