  • Council heard from a member of the public who made a presentation about a matter on the agenda
  • Council granted conditional approval for construction of a two-storey house at 25 Whitton Rise, Bungendore
  • Council will place the new Part 10 of the Googong Development Control Plan (2010) on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
  • Council will proceed with the planning proposal to reclassify part of Bunyip Park Googong from community to operational land
  • Council adopted the Bin Inspection and Contamination Policy
  • Council approved a total budget of $79,032,000 for the QCCP project and will fund the additional cost from an extension of the current loan to be included in the 2023-24 Operational Plan and through funds paid by adjoining private developers
  • Council will place a moratorium on sales of pre-purchase Right of Interments at Queanbeyan General Cemetery to ensure residents of the Queanbeyan-Palerang LGA who need to be buried are prioritised
  • Council endorsed nine volunteer community members to the new Section 355 Braidwood Common Committee and nominated Cr Willis as the councillor representative with Cr Preston as the alternate
  • Council received the investment report for February 2023, noting a return of $305,772
  • Council renewed the existing agreement with the Majors Creek Recreation Reserve Trust for a further five-year term
  • Council authorised the General Manager to execute sale for part of 93 Ellerton Drive to the Canberra Gospel Church Trust for $120,000 (ex GST) subject to conditions
  • Council noted receipt of Proposed Acquisition Notice for a leasehold interest over part of Bungendore Pool and will lodge a claim under s39 of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms) Compensation Act 1991 to preserve its right to an appeal challenging the compensation
  • Council received an information report on community consultation for Majors Creek and Araluen green waste options
  • Council received an information report on summary of road renewal and maintenance activities for Quarter 2 of 2022-23
  • Council received and information report on Compliance and Reporting Activities for July-December 2022
  • Council noted a report on Councillor workshops held between 2-15 March including: Together-4-Youth, Disposal options – 40A Severne Street Greenleigh, Ellerton Drive Post Construction Noise Report Update, Monaro Street Project Update, Queanbeyan to Bungendore (Q2B) Water Supply Pipeline Feasibility Update, QCCP Lease Arrangements and Final Budget
  • Council noted the minutes of Heritage Advisory Committee meeting on 9 March and adopted recommendations in reference to DA for 29 Wallace Street, Braidwood that attention be paid to articulation at corner facing Wallace and Coghill Street and that colours be softened; supporting the DA for alterations and additions to 187 Wallace Street Braidwood, staff to determine whether Furlong House has restrictions on title that would impact heritage, noted only one submission for Heritage Awards and recommended they not proceed this year
  • Council noted the minutes of Local Traffic Committee on 23 February and adopted the recommendation from the meeting
  • Council will receive a report on the progress of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Plan and current priority projects be identified for inclusion in the 2023-24 Operational Plan and grant funding proposals
  • Council will receive a report on the cost to install shade cover over each of the public outdoor pools in the local government area
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for the Araluen Road Slips to Specialised Geo Pty Ltd for $3,838,615
  • In closed session, Council accepted revised tender price of $1,239,936 from Rice Constructions Group Pty Ltd for the upgrade to Braidwood Pool and will allocate $427,709 from the Australian Government’s LRCI Program Phase 4 to cover the shortfall
  • In closed session, Council received a report on legal matters
  • In closed session, Council declined to accept tenders for Braidwood Heritage Centre and endorse staff and NSW Public Works to enter direct negotiations with contractor and receive a report back prior to awarding tender
  • In closed session, Council received a report on public interest disclosure/code of conduct complaint
