  • Council deferred determination of a DA for demolition of existing building and construction of a medical centre at 24 Gibraltar Street, Bungendore to consider applying for an interim heritage order under the HERITAGE ACT 1977. Council will consider the intent of the Local Environmental Plan (LEP)/Development Control Plan (DCP) and other relevant planning instruments with respect to historical and heritage-value precincts and receive a further report. Council will receive a report that outlines how the due diligence that was performed during the assessment considered community expectations and public interest requirements implied within the LEP/DCP and other relevant planning instruments. The developer will be invited to voluntarily consult with heritage professionals on staff to consider ways to amend their plans to address the historical significance and value of the setting and potentially include the historical building into their development.
