On Saturday 4 May we celebrated outstanding promotion, protection, and preservation of heritage at our annual Heritage Awards ceremony.

Each year the ceremony is held during the Queanbeyan-Palerang Heritage Festival and showcases incredible examples of heritage buildings, gardens and more in our region.

This year the event was held at the Queanbeyan Museum during its open day, bringing together a fantastic collection of items that showcase the history of Queanbeyan and our nominees.

This year's winners were:

  • Lauren Gundry for Willeroo Homestead in the Restoration of a Heritage Building category
  • Dominica & Tim McOwan for 1 Rutledge Street in the New Building Design category
  • Timothy Adams for his paper Carved in Stone: An Examination of Identity in an Early Regional Cemetery in the Contribution and Promotion of Heritage category.

The judging panel commented on the high calibre of entrants in this year’s awards and thanked everyone who entered.
