This project will provide new women’s changerooms for the Queanbeyan Blues Football Club at Seiffert Oval. This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.

Seiffert Oval has two existing changerooms in the main grandstand building, used for both men’s and women’s sport. The funding will enable the fit out of two additional changerooms for women’s sport within an existing building, external to the grandstand.

The Queanbeyan Blues United Rugby League Club (QBURL) does not have appropriate facilities for women and girls in their ever expanding club. Currently the QBURL have a major football stadium at Seiffert Oval but only two changerooms and one referee’s room for the entire sports precinct. The two additional changeroom built in a conversion of an existing vacant building within the sports precinct will support the Club’s expanding requirements.

This project will build a stronger sporting community within Queanbeyan and acknowledge and encourage women and girls to participate in local sports with equal opportunities.

We have been progressing the project using sub-contractors for aspects of the work. Concrete slabs have been poured and a plumber has been progressing the required plumbing. Internal walls have been installed, and tiling and currently doing the waterproofing work.
