Here's the summary of this week's Council meeting:
  • Council heard from two members of the public who made presentations about matters on the agenda
  • Council supported a request from Respite Care for Queanbeyan Incorporated to refund paid development application fees
  • Council agreed to listing of Queanbeyan Showground as an Aboriginal Place subject to Heritage NSW preparing the Aboriginal Place Management Plan under the required Acts in full consultation with the local Aboriginal community, Council and other relevant stakeholders
  • Council will seek expressions of interest from suitably qualified builders for the construction phase of the Braidwood Heritage Centre upgrade
  • Council approved a list of recommended events to proceed to funding application under the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program
  • Council endorsed the amended Community Strategic Plan 2042
  • Council will apply the maximum annual Councillor and Mayoral fee for the Regional Centre category of $25,310 and $62,510 (respectively) from 1 July in accordance with the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal Annual Report and Determination of 20 April 2022.
  • Council resolved to renew the agreement with The Queanbeyan Players Inc for use of facility at 18 Barrow Place to store costumes and sets
  • Council noted a report on councillor workshops from 19 May to 1 June which included Operational Plan 2022-23, LRCI Program Round 3 and update on the Bungendore Sports Hub
  • In closed session, Council approved an exemption to tender for upgrade of TechnologyOne software as the sole provider and endorsed entering into a new contract
  • In closed session, Council agreed to revised wording in the deed of agreement with Googong Sports and Recreation Club.
