Braidwood Saleyards

QPRC owns and manages the Braidwood Saleyards, with cattle sales on the first Friday of each month (except January), and additional special sales throughout the year.

In 2024, Council commissioned an independent assessment to help plan for the saleyard's future, focusing on improving safety, usability, and industry standards. The assessment included site inspection, engagement with stakeholders, and a review of risks and opportunities. Key findings highlighted the need to address:

Aging infrastructure and yard conditions
Safety for workers, buyers, and livestock
Drainage and vehicle access challenges
General site amenities and signage

Council will continue to work with agents, vendors, buyers, the community, and industry to plan future improvements. Suggested upgrades will considered and prioritised based on a detailed risk assessment and a cost-benefit analysis to understand the economic and social benefits.

Truck Wash

The Braidwood Truck Wash is located on Sandholes Road, Braidwood, and is available for the washing of crates associated with the transport of livestock. Access is via an Avdata key.

Saleyards Induction

The Braidwood Saleyards Induction Program must be completed by all Council workers and third-party users of the Braidwood Saleyards, including Agents and their staff.

Please read the induction program manual carefully. Your can contact the saleyards staff if you have any questions.

Once you have read the program manual, you will be required to complete the form below including your first name, surname, email address and your business or employer name. This form will be used to email you confirmation that induction has been completed which you may be required to produce upon entry to the Braidwood Saleyards.
