Here's the summary of resolutions made at this week's Council meeting.

  • Council heard from three members of the public who made presentations about matters on the agenda
  • Council will advise the NSW Department of Planning that it objects to the proposal for the development of the new Bungendore High School, noting that satisfactory resolution may result in Council withdrawing its objection. Council will forward the formal submission to the department and provide a copy of recommended conditions of consent.
  • Council will forward a draft planning proposal to reclassify part of Bunyip Park, Googong from community land to operation land to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment for a Gateway determination.
  • Council adopted the exhibited amendments to South Jerrabomberra Development Control Plan 2015
  • Council endorsed in-principle the names Musgrave, McGrath and Feehan Streets as proposed names in Braidwood Ridge and will advertise the names for 28 days
  • Council will place the QPRC Library Strategy 2022-26 on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
  • The register of annual returns of disclosures of pecuniary interest and other matters by councillors and designated staff for the period ending 30 June 2022 was tabled
  • Council adopted the Road Names Policy
  • Council will place the Backflow Prevention Policy, Parking and Enforcement Priority Policy on exhibition for 28 days and the Code of Meeting Practice on exhibition for 42 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
  • Council reaffirmed that Council meetings be held on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month except Dec and Jan, with meetings in Dec and Jan to be on 3rd Wednesday of each month. Council will also receive a report on cost and feasibility of a travelling kit of IT equipment that would allow Council meetings being held around the local government area
  • Council approved the change of title for the Chief Executive Officer to General Manager and Senior Executive titles to: Director Community, Arts and Recreation; Director Development and Environment; Director Infrastructure Services; and Director Corporate Services. Council endorsed proposed structure with functions and responsibilities of each Directorate and will receive a further report following consultation with staff on proposed changes to reporting and service areas.
  • Council noted councillor workshops from 22 Sep-6 Oct including LGNSW Policy and Advocacy Update, Captains Flat Rail Corridor Lead Contamination, Bungendore High School Response to Submissions, Special Rate Variation (SRV) – Independent Financial Assessment and Service Review
  • Council noted minutes of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee
  • Council noted Bungendore Town Centre and Environs Committee meeting minutes, will change the Terms of Reference to delete reference to the chair of committee and establish a review into de-cluttering road signage in Town Centre
  • In closed session, Council agreed to commence enforcement proceedings by issuing a Notice of Proposed Order to bring a development into compliance with the consent
