  • Council heard from 16 members of the public who made presentations about various matters on the agenda
  • Council granted conditional consent to a modification application to modify site plan to reflect location of telecommunications tower as constructed at 34 Powell Drive, Carwoola
  • Council granted conditional consent to a development application for use of land at 2461 Currawang Road, Currawang for an annual two-day Amcross motorbike event
  • Council granted conditional consent for construction of dwelling house and detached garage at 720 Urila Road, Tinderry and for the construction and transfer of Crown Road
  • Council granted conditional consent to a development application for demolition, ground level commercial premises tenancies and construction of a seven-storey shop top housing development at 202-214 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan
  • Council granted conditional consent to a development application for boundary adjustment and construction of Council depot and signage at 29 Graziers Road and 49 Duncan Loop in Googong
  • Council granted conditional consent to a development application for construction of two storey dwelling house at 37 Reginald Road, Googong
  • Council adopted in principle the name Bunduluk Road, Bungendore
  • Council will contact NSW Department of Primary Industries to return grant funding for a boat ramp for Queanbeyan River project
  • Council approved a cultural grant of $2,200 towards costs for the 2023 Music Workshop for Queanbeyan Junior Brass Incorporated
  • Council adopted the Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct
  • Council received and noted March 2023 Quarterly Budget Review Statement and adopts the budget recommendations
  • Council received information report on Bungendore Office and Swimming Pool Compulsory Acquisition compensation
  • Council received an information report on Community Strategic Plan update
  • Council received a report on councillor workshops held between 18 May and 7 June including Reconstruction NSW, Queanbeyan Memorial Park Project Update, Monaro Rail Trail Project Update, Naming of New Council Assets, Questions on Notice – Council Meetings, Jumping Creek Intersection, QBRS 3rd Quarter, QCCP Welcome to Country Foyer Art Project, Draft Affordable Housing Strategy, and Draft Asbestos Policy
  • Council noted reports on site inspections of 202-214 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan and 34 Powell Drive, Carwoola
  • Council noted minutes of Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee meeting, adopting terms of reference and recognised Natasha Abbott’s support of the committee over a long period of time, supporting project to improve roadside vegetation management
  • Council noted minutes of the Heritage Advisory Committee and adopted recommendations
  • Council noted minutes of the Bungendore Town Centre and Environs Committee meeting
  • Council will hold an urgent workshop to discuss allocating funds in the 23/24 Operational Plan for temporary accommodation and/or storage for community groups displaced through the compulsory acquisition of the Bungendore Community Centre. The workshop will also consider the use of existing Council land assets or Council managed Crown Lands for temporary accommodation and/or storage for community groups displaced through the compulsory acquisition of the Bungendore Community Centre.
  • Council noted Refugee Week will be held from 18-24 June and will write to the Minister for Immigration requesting the Australian Government expands the Status Resolution Support Services Program
  • Council noted potential to incorporate solar power panels/cells in car parks to generate renewable energy and will develop a policy to facilitate the installation of solar power panels/cells on roofing over car parks in Queanbeyan-Palerang
  • In closed session, Council noted a report on the Bungendore High School Compensation Claim
  • In closed session, Council awarded tenderers as pre-qualified suppliers for the 2023-05 Traffic Management Systems Contract
  • In closed session, Council awarded tenderers as pre-qualified suppliers for the 2023-04 Supply of Gravel and Quarry Materials Contract
  • In closed session, Council declined to accept tender submissions for construction of pressure water pump station and site generator at North Elmslea and authorised General Manager to enter into negotiations with preferred tenderer
  • In closed session, Council agreed to close part of public road between Rutledge Street and Lowe Car Park and that land be classified as Operational Land. Council also approved General Manager to negotiate to sell closed road to Village Pty Limited and will receive report on negotiations.
