Here is the summary of the resolutions made at the Council meeting of 14 May 2025.

  • Council heard from seven members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda including solid fuel heater policy, fencing standards, Mount Jerrabomberra Plan of Management, and the proposed Vikings club in Jerrabomberra
  • Council endorsed a submission on DA 2023.0635 Construction of a registered club premises (Vikings) at 37 Tompsitt Drive, Jerrabomberra and upon notification of determination meeting, authorises General Manager to address and present submission to Regional Planning Panel
  • Council will develop a Notice of Motion for the Local Government NSW Annual Conference around fencing standards for rural subdivisions and will progress DCP fencing amendments in the next DCP housekeeping amendment
  • Council decided not to adopt the draft Solid Fuel Heater Policy and will undertake an education campaign to ensure solid fuel heater owners understand their obligations in controlling smoke pollution
  • Council endorsed draft 2025-26 Integrated Planning and Reporting documents for public exhibition, will publish short ‘easy to read’ version of the consolidated draft plans that highlight the projects, major programs and principal activities of the delivery program. Council will undertake community engagement in accordance with Community Engagement Strategy and receive a report to consider all community feedback before finalising draft plans
  • Council will refer the Mount Jerrabomberra Site Specific Plan of Management and update of progress achieved, to the Sustainability and Climate Change Advisory Committee to determine priority projects for 2025-26 to 2029-30
  • Council appointed six community members to the Sustainability and Climate Change Advisory Committee and will maintain a merit list from remaining community members who nominated if there are future vacancies in this term of Council
  • Council appointed three community members to the Braidwood Flood Risk Management Committee
  • Council appointed four community members to the Bungendore Town Centre and Environs Committee and endorses the appointment of Mel Carn as the Bungendore Chamber of Commerce & Industry representative
  • Council appointed ten community members to the Arts and Cultural Development Advisory Committee and will amend the terms of reference to allow for a maximum of ten community members
  • Council appointed ten community members to the Seniors Advisory Committee, appoints the Regional Manager of Warrigal and Aged Care Advocate, Southern NSW Region of Seniors Right Service as two agency representatives. Council will maintain a merit list from remaining community members who nominated if there are future vacancies in this term of Council
  • Council will refer the Urban Forest Cooling Strategy and the update of progress achieved to the Sustainability and Climate Change Advisory Committee to determine priority projects for current Delivery Program 2024-26 to 2029-30
  • Council received Investment Report for March 2025, noting return of $579,057
  • Council adopted the Draft Swimming Pool Inspection Program – 2025
  • Council endorsed the draft Donations Policy, draft Grant Guidelines and Schedule of Donations for Category C (Rates and Annual Charges) for public exhibition
  • Council received information report about Women’s rugby changerooms at Freebody and Seiffert Ovals
  • Council received information report about Councillors workshops from 18 April to 8 May including Strategy Action Plans and Budget Estimates, Council Submission on DA 2023.0635, NBN update/briefing, budget workshop summary and councillor feedback
  • Council noted local councils should be notified of each application for liquor and/or gaming machine licences or changes to existing, note the current LGNSW policy platform advocates for increased local government involvement in determination of these applications. Council notes that weekly losses through the LGA have reached $1.4m and resolves that staff notify governing body of Council of each referral from the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority for an application or transfer of liquor or gaming licence
  • Council received delegate report from NSW Policy Community Precinct Safety Committee Meeting
  • Council received delegate report from the Country Mayor’s Association General Meeting on 28 March 2025
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for Detailed Design – Renewal of 88 Wallace Street and New Carpark, Braidwood to Spiire Australia Pty Ltd for $393,590
  • In closed session, Council approved the sale of the Laneway at Lot 12 DP 1305630 to Village Building Company Pty Ltd for $452,250
  • In closed session, Council awarded RFT 2024-41 Captains Flat Pool Upgrade to Rice Constructions Group Pty Ltd for $181,182
  • In closed session, Council noted that an owner would be advised that the excess water usage is not eligible for assistance in accordance with the Financial Hardship and Assistance Policy
