1. Adopt an animal

We seek to rehome all animals at the animal management facility that are not claimed by their owners, from sheep to kittens. All dogs and cats purchased from us are required to be lifetime registered.

Find a lost pet

If your pet has gone missing, you can view animals picked-up by our rangers online below or visit the animal management facility, located on Ellerton Drive and Old Sydney Road, Queanbeyan. You can also place your lost pet on the Canberra Lost Pet Database facebook page.

Cost

All animals you purchase from us have had a health check. When you purchase them they will either be desexed or the cost of desexing will be included in the fee. You will receive a voucher to take to a local vet to have the animal operated on. 

Dogs

Desexed - cost is $222 and includes:

  • C3 vaccination
  • microchip
  • worming
  • flea treatment

Non desexed - cost is $364 and includes:

  • desexing at one of the local vet clinics
  • C3 vaccination
  • microchip
  • working
  • flea control

Cats

Desexed - cost is $149 and includes:

  • F3 vaccination
  • microchip
  • worming
  • flea treatment

Non desexed - cost is $338 and includes:

  • desexing at one of the local vet clinics
  • C3 vaccination
  • microchip
  • working
  • flea control

Search Lost Animals

Please be aware that pet owners have a range of responsibilities under the Companion Animals Act NSW 1998. There are also a number of factors to consider when thinking about getting a pet.

2. Keeping your pet safe

To make sure we can get your pet back to you safely they must be microchipped, registered and your contact details need to be up to date.

3. Contact the Animal Management Facility

The animal management facility is located on Old Sydney Road, Queanbeyan.

Visit the facility:      Cnr Ellerton Drive and Old Sydney Road - View in Google maps

Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 10am, or 4pm and 5pm

Saturdays between 1pm and 5pm

The facility is staffed by Council rangers and they are responsible for:

  • operating and managing the pound
  • enforcement of the Companion Animals Act 1998 and Impounding Act 1993
  • school education programs
  • responding to domestic animal complaints
  • seizing roaming and nuisance animals
  • microchipping and registration.
