The Foxlow Parklet was out of operation since 2021 after soil testing identified higher than acceptable lead levels, linked to the former Lake George mine site that operated at Captains Flat from 1882 to 1962.

We received funding from NSW Crown Lands to remediate the site, by excavating and removing contaminated soil and importing clean fill.

The Australian Government funded a new playground under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Remediation works began in mid-March 2025, and the new playground was installed in June 2025.
