QPRC is celebrating by hosting a variety of public events across the LGA. We hope you can join us!

Bungendore - Waterbug Survey at Turallo Creek
Date: Sunday June 1
Time: 9:30am-11:30am
Site access at corner Butmaroo Street and Turallo Terrace.
Come along to Turallo Creek for a waterbug survey. Learn how to catch and identify aquatic macroinvertebrates (waterbugs) and find out how they can help our rivers!
Queanbeyan - Environmental Networking Expo
Date: Thursday 5 June
Time: 1pm-3:30pm
Location: Bicentennial Hall, Queanbeyan
Local environmental, sustainability, and waste organisations are invited to host a stall and network with other local groups and the wider community. Organisations will be able to set up educational stalls, present on their organisation, and network with other organisations. Members of the public are invited to attend and browse stalls and chat with some of the fantastic organisations in our area! Light refreshments will be available.
Please contact emery.joseph@qprc.nsw.gov.au to book a stall. If you are attending without hosting a stall, no booking is required.
Queanbeyan - Educational walk in Queanbeyan
Date: Sunday June 8
Time: 9am-11am
Meeting Location: end of Dane Street, Karabar
Join Queanbeyan Landcare and QPRC for an educational walk along Queanbeyan River. Local experts from Queanbeyan Landcare will lead a walk discussing the ecosystem and native species around Queanbeyan, plus explore how you can get involved in restoring your local environment. If you’re lucky, we might see a platypus!
Please wear enclosed shoes and sun protection. A morning tea will be provided.
Tree Planting on Queanbeyan River
Date: Sunday June 15
Time: 9am – Midday
Meeting Location: end of Dane Street, Karabar
Come plant a tree and revegetate the Queanbeyan River! Get your hands dirty and help rehabilitate the river. Tools and gloves will be provided, and a morning tea will also be provided. Please wear enclosed shoes and sun protection.
This tree planting is funding under the Urban Rivers and Catchments Grant Program.
