Youth Musical Theatre Workshop

Come along for a full-day workshop exploring musical theatre, singing, dancing and performance. The workshop will be run by two industry professionals, Ylaria Rogers and Amy Orman.

Ylaria is a Canberra-based director, actor, dramaturge and producer. Ylaria has collaborated across Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, London, Vietnam. This includes working with The Street Theatre, Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centre, Tuggeranong Arts Centre, National Capital Orchestra, National Capital Opera, The Hayes Theatre, Victorian College of the Arts, The Universe - Hanoi, and her own production companies, Heart Strings Theatre Co and Freefall Productions.

Amy has performed in professional theatre shows in Chicago and New York City, and has also worked in TV, Film, Print and Commercials. In between performing opportunities, Amy has worked as a teacher of dance, drama and singing. This past year Amy choreographed the critically acclaimed production of The Hello Girls with Heart Strings Theatre Co. at the Canberra Theatre and Hayes Theatre in Sydney.

This workshop is ideal for young people who would like to learn how to prepare for auditions or who would like to get a taste of musical theatre. Participants will need to bring a water bottle and comfortable clothing that they can easily move around in. Lunch will be included.
