Braidwood Landfill remediation

This project will see works on the final rehabilitation of the former Braidwood landfill. The Braidwood landfill was closed in late 2019 when the Resource Recovery Facility opened.

We engaged a consultant to develop closure plan and specification for works.

Council has deferred this project to allow for more detailed financial modelling of Waste Services Operations and the Waste Management Strategy to ensure a sustainable approach is developed prior to the 2027-28 budget process.

Review of Environmental Factors

A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the capping and closure of the former Braidwood Landfill has been prepared.
