DV Safe Phone

DV-phone_1.jpg

There are millions of old phones lying around in people's drawers, cupboards and boxes. Many of these phones could be refreshed and repurposed into safe phones and provide domestic violence victims with hope and a chance at a better life.

We have partnered with DV Safe Phone, a national charity providing safe, untraceable mobile phones to people experiencing domestic and family violence.

Residents are encouraged to donate unused phones via collection boxes at Council’s Queanbeyan, Bungendore, and Braidwood customer service centres.

Before donating, phones should be reset and accounts signed out of. Non-usable devices are responsibly recycled. Residents can donate phones of any age or condition at these locations:

  • Queanbeyan: Nellie Hamilton Centre, 257 Crawford St
  • Bungendore: 13 Gibraltar St
  • Braidwood: 144 Wallace St
