The Gidleigh Bridge replacement has now been completed and the new bridge commenced taking traffic on 13 May 2021.

It involves the replacement of the old timber bridge by a new INQUIK bridge which is part of the Council Bridge renewal program. The initial scope of the project includes the approach slabs and the sealing of both approaches (each 50m long). A further length may be sealed if budget permits.

Project schedule (include times/days that the project will be worked on)

 The construction will take place:

  • 7am – 5pm, Monday to Friday and
  • 7am – 2pm on weekends (if necessary)

The only approved work that may take place outside of these hours includes:

  • Delivery of materials/components for safety reasons.

Emergency safety work to reduce the risk of harm to staff, drivers, property, and environment
