Bungendore Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade

Design is continuing on the construction of the next stage of the plant to 12,000EP capacity. This is in line with the growth predictions of the 2019 IWCM and the Bungendore Structure Plan.

The upgrade works are contingent on a solution being found for the future Bungendore Water Supply. To date the water quality objectives study for receiving waters has been completed and is currently with the EPA for review. Once signed off, this will be incorporated into the project Review of Environmental Factors which is nearing completion. Detailed design is currently underway for the project’s civil, mechanical and electrical components and it is hoped that these, together with commercial contractual clauses will be ready mid year 2024.

The tender ready design package is expected to be complete by the end of June 2024.

Following this an application for s.60 approval will be sought after which the project will go into hiatus pending the outcome of the Q2B water project.
