We’ve received reports of discoloured water in various locations across Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Googong recently. First and foremost, we want to assure you that the water supply meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink. We are flushing water mains and working with Icon Water to investigate further.
New days and hours will soon be in place for our Waste Transfer Stations. Our busier transfer stations will be open longer and on more days. The changes make the hours more consistent across the transfer stations. All QPRC waste facilities will now be closed on NSW public holidays. Find out more about the new hours.

Mulch at the Queanbeyan Waste Minimisation Centre will only be available for purchase until mid-August 2026. Compost, made from the green-lidded FOGO bin waste, will continue to be available for purchase.
This project involves restoration and reopening of the Bungendore Community Centre on the corner of Majara Street and Turallo Terrace.
The Community Centre was compulsorily acquired in 2022 by NSW Education for construction of a new high school. Following relocation of the high school site, the Community Centre was returned to Council in 2025.
Work is required to repair damage from vandalism that has occurred at the property, and other rectification works as a result of the building being cleared and left vacant for an extended period of time.
All works were completed in December 2025 with the centre officially reopening on 17 December with the naming of the centre the Norah Stars Community Centre.
