We have been working with a dedicated volunteer group of local Bungendore residents since mid 2020 and they have been working with us to develop concepts for what the community wants in a playground. The successful tenderer, Moduplay, will continue to engage with the working group to refine this concept design, but it should look similar to the image.
The playground will be an adventure-style playground, suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Contributions were received via grant funding from the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund, Planning NSW, Everyone Can Play grant, Bendigo Bank, Veolia Mulwaree Trust, and Infogen.
Construction of the new playground started 7 February 2022 with the installation of construction fences. The playground is now closed during construction which is estimated to take between 12-14 weeks.
In addition to the new playground there will be some access paths constructed from Gibraltar Street to the playground and from the playground to the tennis courts and outdoor exercise equipment.
Works is continuing and is currently on schedule to be completed in May.
