Project was completed June 2026
Following the December 2023 flood event, Council received funding to repair the damaged Stony Creek Bridge on Cooma Road. Stony Creek Bridge is between Jerrabattgulla Road and Kain Cross Road. Emergency repair works were made initially in 2024, and our contractor returned in the first half of 2026 to complete the remainder of the scope of works.
The repairs were to the southern abutment and wingwall and northern wing wall and rock scour protection.
Work began on 21 January 2026,and was completed in June 2026.
Financial assistance was provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
5 March update
The northern wingwall has been constructed and is being backfilled. Once this has been completed they will start work on the southern wingwall.
