The Waste Minimisation Centre has officially sold out of mulch. Mulch products will no longer be available at the facility moving forward. Compost is still available to purchase.

Work on the intersection upgrade has been completed.
Update - 20 November 2025
Works on the intersection upgrade are progressing well. Most of the pavement works along the new slip lane and Bungendore Road eastern shoulder are now complete. Street lights have been installed and are now operational.
Concrete median and sealing works are to be completed.
The project is expected to be complete by the middle of December.
Project background
Council received grant funding of $951,311 from the Australian Government Blackspot program towards the design and construction of safety improvements works at the Macs Reef Road and Bungendore Road Intersection, Bywong. After seeking tenders for the work, Council received additional funding to cover design and construction costs and an extension of time. This was approved in March 2025.

On 12 March 2025, Council awarded the construction contract to Cord Civil Pty Ltd. Construction began in May 2025.
