We’ve received reports of discoloured water in various locations across Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Googong recently. First and foremost, we want to assure you that the water supply meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink. We are flushing water mains and working with Icon Water to investigate further.
New days and hours will soon be in place for our Waste Transfer Stations. Our busier transfer stations will be open longer and on more days. The changes make the hours more consistent across the transfer stations. All QPRC waste facilities will now be closed on NSW public holidays. Find out more about the new hours.
Waste Transfer Stations
Due to staff shortages, the Buy Back Centre at the Bungendore Waste Transfer Station and Braidwood Waste Transfer Station will not be open this weekend 8-9 August. The transfer stations themselves will be open.The Macs Reef Road Transfer Station will be closed on Saturday 8 August. Those looking to dispose of waste should attend the Bungendore Waste Transfer Station.
The replacement of the bridge is now complete and saw the replacement of the bridge over Back Creek on Wallaces Gap Road in Bendoura. The old crossing was a timber bridge that had come to the end of its life and was suffering from termite damage. The new bridge is resilient for future natural disasters. The project will also relocate the road into the correct road reserve.
The replacement bridge is a precast structure.
