We’ve received reports of discoloured water in various locations across Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Googong recently. First and foremost, we want to assure you that the water supply meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and is safe to drink. We are flushing water mains and working with Icon Water to investigate further.
New days and hours will soon be in place for our Waste Transfer Stations. Our busier transfer stations will be open longer and on more days. The changes make the hours more consistent across the transfer stations. All QPRC waste facilities will now be closed on NSW public holidays. Find out more about the new hours.
Waste Transfer Stations
Mulch at the Queanbeyan Waste Minimisation Centre will only be available for purchase until mid-August 2026. Compost, made from the green-lidded FOGO bin waste, will continue to be available for purchase.
The Frank Pangallo Heritage Library's roof is sagging, and we have had several leaks in the past 18 months which have posed issues for the heritage collection.
This project primarily involves the replacement of the brittle and failing roof tiles as well as minor repairs to the roof structure.

For safety reasons the Heritage Library will remain closed for the duration of the works, which is expected to be completed in mid-late June, weather permitting.
