The Frank Pangallo Heritage Library's roof is sagging, and we have had several leaks in the past 18 months which have posed issues for the heritage collection. 

This project primarily involves the replacement of the brittle and failing roof tiles as well as minor repairs to the roof structure. 

Contractors will:

  • repair damaged and split timbers forming the roofing framework 
  • lay new tiles replace ridge capping
  • replace flashing, sarking and insulation
  • replace and seal mortar for the chimney
  • replace air ducting, floodlighting, sewer vents, gutters and downpipes
  • repair the entrance portico     

For safety reasons the Heritage Library will remain closed for the duration of the works, which is expected to be completed in mid-late June, weather permitting.
