Henderson Road Stormwater Upgrade

  • Project typeCapital Works
  • Project value$2.86m
  • Project scheduleMonday to Friday, 7am-6pm
  • Contractor nameDale and Hitchcock Pty Ltd

Project background

Stormwater on Henderson Road currently drains to an open channel within land owned by Transport for NSW. Council is responsible for the management of the easement, and the current arrangement has led to delays in maintenance and operational activities. This has led to stormwater issues for local properties.

To address these concerns, we are constructing a new stormwater main to redirect stormwater to an existing stormwater pipe. We are also installing a gross pollutant trap to improve stormwater quality.

Project update

The contractor began works within Henderson Road from 27 April.

From 11 June (weather permitting) – Henderson Road will re-open to traffic heading west (from Crest Road to McKeahnie Street), however the works zone will extend to the area shown in yellow.

Eastbound traffic using Henderson Road will continue to divert to Uriarra Road via McKeahnie Street and Crest Road (green line). Access to the community garden will be restored.

All property access within the work area will be maintained, however vehicles exiting driveways will be restricted to left-turn movements only.
