The piling works have been completed, and work on the abutments continues. Earthworks will proceed on the Rossi Road side of the bridge, before starting on the Hoskinstown Road side soon.
Bridge planks have been ordered and are curing off site.
Reschs Creek crossing over the Yandyguinula Creek provides road access into the Rossi area. The crossing is currently a low level causeway which is regularly affected by flooding. The project includes construction of a new bridge with improve flood immunity built on a new road alignment that will seek to improve connections to the road network on both sides of the creek.
The project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.
The new bridge will be built 130m downstream of the current crossing. It will be a two-lane concrete bridge. The new bridge will be 42m long, and will be constructed above the 1 in 100 flood level (1% AEP). It will be 4.5m higher than the existing crossing.
There will also be 710m of roadworks, two-lanes with a two-coat seal, including the upgrade of the intersection of Hoskinstown Road and Rossi Road. Creek signage 'Yandyguinula Creek' will also be installed on either end of the road approaches.
There will be no road closure required, as the new bridge is on a different alignment to the existing crossing. The existing crossing will continue to be used until the new bridge is ready for traffic.
