Bungendore Sports Hub

  • Project value$2,450,000

We have lodged the development application for the Bungendore Sports Hub.

The first stage will involve:

  • bulk earthworks
  • construction of two flood-lit sports fields
  • installation of irrigation infrastructure
  • two flood-lit hard courts
  • car parking and amenities including change rooms, toilets and canteen facilities

Council expects to conclude acquisition of the sports hub site in early 2021. The development application is currently under assessment, however it is unable to be approved until the acquisition of the land has been completed. A tender for the final design and construction, along with bulk earthworks was awarded at the 26 August 2020 Council meeting, meaning that following development application approval construction will be able to commence swiftly. We are aiming to have the two main sporting fields operational for the winter 2022 season. The hard courts should be available for the 2021 season. The tender for the supply and installation of the floodlights was awarded at the December 2020 meeting to Gasniers Electrical.

The full complex will have six grass sports fields, six hard courts, floodlights, irrigation, amenities and sporting club facilities, car parking, shared path ways, and an aquatic centre.

The project has been funded by grants received from the NSW State Government. $1,500,000 was received from the Stronger Communities Fund and $950,000 from the Stronger Country Communities Fund.
