  • Council heard from a member of the public who made a presentation about a matter on the agenda
  • Council adopted the QPRC Sports Facilities Strategic Plan following public exhibition with amendments, including opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, preferencing improvements over maintenance where funding permits, identifying and publicising any sports fields that are candidates for decommissioning, having no net loss of open space in suburbs where sports fields will be de-commissioned, and committing to maintaining areas for unstructured sport and recreation activities. Council will receive a further report on how the QPRC Sports Strategic Plan can better align with Aquatics Strategy
  • Council endorsed the engagement of artist Lynnice (Letty) Church and concept designs for the QCCP artwork and Acknowledgement of Country Project
  • Council noted the cancellation of Harmonie German Club’s Oktoberfest Event for 2023 and reallocated funds to support the Diwali Lantern Festival, Music by the River and support for new events in Braidwood and Bungendore and rural villages
  • Council appointed 19 firms to its Conduct Review Panel until 30 June 2026
  • Council nominated the Mayor, Cr Livermore, Cr Willis, and Cr Wilson as voting delegates to attend the LGNSW Annual Conference 2023 and will register Cr Taskovski as non-voting delegate to attend
  • Council adopted the Pyrotechnics (Fireworks) Display Policy with amendment
  • Council received information report on work done in regard to Crown Land being managed by Council under the Crown Lands Management Act
  • Council received information report on the status of fees for Bungendore rezoning proposals
  • Council received information report on the Dunns Creek Road project
  • Council received report on councillor workshops held between 22 June - 5 July including Waterwise Policy and Bungendore Scoping and Planning Proposals Update
  • Council received report on the Southern Tablelands Arts, including a presentation from Executive Director Rose Marin
  • Council noted the minutes and recommendations of the Heritage Advisory Committee on 8 June 2023. Council adopted recommendation 15/23 and noted recommendations 16/23 - 20/23
  • Council noted the minutes of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee meetings
  • Council will receive a report on the cost of appointing and operating a Design Review Panel to provide advice on residential apartment developments
  • Council agreed to commemorate Hiroshima Day with a public service at Queanbeyan Peace Park, noting 6 and 9 August 2023 mark the 78th anniversary of the use of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan
  • In closed session, Council authorised the acquisition of land for the purpose of road widening on Nerriga Road
  • In closed session, Council agreed to acquire by agreement land for the purpose of road widening of Williamsdale Road and to close a portion of road reserve
  • In closed session, Council awarded the tender for the construction of Halfway Creek Bridge to HD Civil Pty Ltd for the amount of $649,533
  • In closed session, Council appointed Rhonda Wheatley to Chair of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee for four years, appointed Carolyn Rosetta-Walsh as Deputy Chair and agreed to recommended increase in remuneration of ARIC members
  • In closed session, Council received a report on the Bungendore Highschool Compensation Claim Matter
