  • Council approved the leave of absence application for Cr Bryce Wilson for the 27 November Council meeting
  • Council accepted the Queanbeyan Art Society gift of John Bosler’s - 'All That Glitters' painting. It will proudly hang in the Nellie Hamilton Centre
  • Council heard from three members of the public who made presentations about an item the agenda involving a DA for proposed co-living housing development at 95 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan
  • Council heard special presentations from the Chair of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee, and the Director, Financial Audit in the Audit Office of NSW, who will provided commentary this year's Audit results
  • Council accepted the audited General Purpose Financial Statements, Special Purpose Financial Statements and Special Schedules for the year ended 30 June 2024, and noted that public submissions will be accepted until 12 December 2024
  • Council passed notice of motion that item DA.2023.0461 – Proposed Co-living Housing Development – 95 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan be brought back to Council for consideration at this meeting
  • Council granted approval to variations to State Environmental Planning Policy Housing 2021 and conditional consent to DA.2023.0461 for co-living housing development at 95 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan
  • Council endorsed the expenditure of Roads to Recovery grant funds to complete projects for 2024-25, including on Hoskinstown Road, Burra Road and Ellendon Street
  • Council received the Investment Report for the month of August 2024 and noted return of $1,009,334
  • Council received the Investment Report for the month of September 2024 and noted return of $832,649
  • Council endorsed a Heads of Agreement with Amplitel Pty Ltd for a telecommunications tower at 32A Severne Street, Greenleigh with a rental income of $24,000 (excl GST) per annum + 3% increase each year
  • Council nominated Councillors for each s355 Committee, dissolved the Araluen Area, Mick Sherd Oval Canteen, Braidwood Recreation Ground and Nerriga Sports Ground Reserve Trust as delegated s355 Committees and will establish user groups for these.   • Council deferred the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee Charter
  • Council endorsed the draft Code of Meeting Practice with amendments to timing for Notices of Motion, timing for providing large meeting papers to Councillors, and timing for public presentations. The draft code will be on public exhibition for 42 days inviting submissions
  • Council adopted the Code of Conduct and Procedures for the Administration of the Code of Conduct
  • Council received the Annual Food Activity Report to NSW Food Authority
  • Council received the land-use planning branch update
  • Council received information report with summary of road renewal and maintenance activities in the first quarter of 2024-25
  • Council received information report on the Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade
  • Council received information report on PFAS testing in drinking water supplies
  • Council received information report on the case QPRC vs Minister Education and Early Learning
  • Council received information report about site inspection at 95 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan
  • Council noted minutes of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee meetings on 5 and 9 September
  • Council noted the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee Chair’s Annual Report 2024
  • Council will place on public exhibition the proposal to name the former Queanbeyan Council Chambers which is now the Heritage Library, the Frank Pangallo Heritage Library
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for the Bungendore Turallo #1 Reservoir Rectification Works to Maxcim Pty Ltd for $530,127 and approved a supplementary vote of $281,053 from the Palerang Communities Water Fund Reserve for the project
