Here is the summary of the resolutions made at the Ordinary Council meeting of 22 April 2026.

  • Council heard from five members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda including: Revised Unsealed Council Road Policy; Cultural Grant for the Braidwood Lions Club; Queanbeyan & District Basketball Association Request for Refund of Development Application Related Fees; and Jerrabomberra Traffic Campaign
  • Council heard two staff presentations - one about Draft Development Waste Guidelines, and one about the Jerrabomberra Traffic Campaign designs
  • Council approved leave of absence application for Cr John Preston for the 13 and 27 May Council meetings
  • Council approved a donation from the General Fund to the Queanbeyan & District Basketball Association for $51,384.37
  • Council will place the draft Development Waste Guideline on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au and receive a post-exhibition report following public consultation
  • Council received the Nellie Hamilton Centre Options Review Report, endorsed Option 5 as preferred option, which is to remain council-owned and managed, and re-finance if interest rates become favourable
  • Council noted submissions received during the public exhibition of the Revised Unsealed Road Policy and delayed endorsing until after a workshop
  • Council endorsed revised Street Verge Maintenance Policy for public exhibition at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au and will adopt the policy if no submissions received
  • Council approved a Cultural Grant of $1,500 to assist with costs for the Braidwood Young Writers Festival 2026
  • Council endorsed the Management of Cultural Gifts and Donations Policy for public exhibition at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au and will adopt the policy if no submissions received
  • Council adopted the Roadside Vegetation Management Policy
  • Council received investment report for March 2026, noting return was a loss of $292,015
  • Council received information report about road renewal and maintenance activities for the third quarter 2025-26
  • Council received information report with the HSEQ Quarterly report 1 January to 31 March 2026
  • Council noted the minutes of the Queanbeyan Showground Advisory Committee meeting for Monday 9 February 2026
  • Council noted the minutes of the Seniors Advisory Committee meeting for 20 March 2026
  • Council noted the minutes of the Arts and Cultural Development Advisory Committee meeting for 26 March 2026
  • Council will provide funding of $899 from the General Fund to the Jerrabomberra High School Parents and Citizens in support of their Breakfast Club

  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for the purchase, supply and erection of modular buildings at Braidwood Depot to Modstruct Group Pty Ltd for $1,026,387 ex GST, allocated the additional $917,580 from identified savings in 2025-26 budget
  • In closed session, Council received an update on the Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade project
  • In closed session, Council authorised amalgamation of the Queanbeyan and Palerang Water Funds into single QPRC Water Fund from the 2026-27 financial year, set 2026-27 standard residential water access charge at $444 per assessment and the usage charge at $4.58/kL. Council authorised amalgamation of the Queanbeyan and Palerang Sewerage Funds into single QPRC Sewerage Fund from the 2026-27 financial year and set the standard residential sewerage charge at $1,035 per assessment. Council authorised finalisation of Palerang Communities IWCM Strategy after community engagement and public consultation, and preparation of Development Servicing Plans including required stakeholder engagement and independent audit
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for the Jerrabomberra Traffic Campaign construction to Cord Civil Pty Ltd for $1,204,813 ex GST noting that Brudenell Drive treatments will be reassessed and other safety works considered
  • In closed session, Council received an information report on NSW Land & Environment Court Action - QPRC vs Pearl Energy
  • In closed session, Council received responses to Councillor Questions on Confidential Agenda Items at the 22 April 2026 meeting
