Here is the summary of the resolutions made at the Ordinary Council meeting of 22 July 2026.

  • Council heard from two members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda including: Development Waste Guidelines and Post Exhibition Report – Honouring Historical Significance of Heavy Horse, Alma.
  • Council congratulated Joseph McGrail-Bateup on breaking the world record and becoming the world’s loudest town crier.
  • Council accepted the Riverside Cemetery, Queanbeyan Condition Assessment Report and will invite feedback from the Heritage Advisory Committee, place it on public exhibition for 28 days prior to developing a Conversation Management Plan.
  • Council approved entering into a 20-year amended lease agreement with Argyle Community Housing for the property located at 26-28 Sassafras Crescent, Karabar.
  • Council adopted the QPRC Development Waste Guidelines.
  • Council endorsed placing the intention to name the laneway from Duncan Street to the rear of the QPRC Braidwood Depot and site of the future Braidwood car park Alma Lane on public exhibition for 28 days and if no objections will proceed to formally adopt the naming of the lane, Alma Lane.
  • Council agreed to submit a loan application to NSW Treasury Corporation for a total of $5,500,000, being the maximum amount required for the Monaro Street Project. Following a receipt of a further report on the outcome of the NSW Treasury Corporation loan application, Council will approve the future loan drawdown and approves ANZ as the successful lender for the consolidation of the loans listed in the report.
  • Council received Investment Report for June 2026 – return of $1,343,791.
  • Council received information about planning reforms and Minister’s expectations.
  • Council received information about the Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade project.
  • Council received information about fire safety concerns at 9-21 Kendall Avenue North, Crestwood.
  • Council received an information report with summary of a road renewal and maintenance activities for the 2025-26 financial year
  • Council received information about the sale of 19-21 Gibraltar Street, Bungendore.
  • Council received an information report about HSEQ.
  • Council received an information report about bi-annual compliance reporting.
  • Council received an information report with the resolution action sheet.
  • Council noted the minutes of Access Committee held on 1 July 2026.
  • Council received an information report with answers to councillor questions about QSTP Project Board Meetings
  • Council received an information report with answers to councillor questions about Queanbeyan to Bungendore Potable Water Pipeline.
  • In closed session Council awarded the schedule of rates contract RFT202554 – Cleaning, Inspection and Condition Assessment of Sewer Stormwater Mains and Pits to Interflow Pty Ltd.
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract RFT-2010959 for design and construction of improvements to Greenleigh Reservoirs and associated site works to Duratec, Limited for sum of $2,772,301 and approves supplementary vote of $719,613 for QPRC Water Fund.
  • In closed session, Council received an information report on ongoing legal proceedings.
